Conn. Town Councilwoman Apologizes For DUI Arrest
Our DUI Attorneys report on a Connecticut councilwoman Barbara Wagner’s arrest for DUI. Apparently after being arrested by police, Wagner warned the officers who were charging her with drunken driving that she approves their salaries. She also claimed that the Officers were being rude. Man Kills Boy To Hide DUI Accident
Our Chicago DUI Lawyers found this bizarre and tragic story out of South Korea. Apparently a South Korean man allegedly shot and killed a 10-year-old boy after hitting him with his car, apparently to hide the fact that he was driving drunk. Burger, fries and DUI? That could be the order for late night partiers in Arizona. Today our Chicago DUI Lawyers learned that the Pima County (AZ) Sheriff’s department is starting Operation Would U Like Fries, or Operation WULF — in the hopes to put undercover deputies inside 24-hour fast-food restaurants to spot impaired drivers placing their orders.

Chicago Woman Charged With DUI After Injuring Child In Crash
Our DUI Lawyers have learned that a Chicago woman has been charged with aggravated drunk driving after crashing into a viaduct on the South Side Saturday evening while allegedly reaching for a bottle of alcohol. The worst part is that she caused her 9-year-old daughter to smash her head into the windshield, sending both to the hospital.

MADD Upset With Century Council
Interesting article in the Wall Street Journal the other day regarding a split between MADD and a liquor-industry-funded group called the Century Council. It seems that the two groups differ on the penalties that should be imposed on drunk drivers. MADD, of course, wants everyone punished as harsh as possible – from the first time offender to the chronic repeat offender. The Century Council, on the other hand, argues on its Web site that hard-core drunken drivers cause most alcohol-related traffic deaths, and therefore any crackdown should focus on them. Driver Of Adenhart’s Car Also Had Been Drinking
Our DUI Lawyers have been following the tragic story of Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart who was killed along with two other people as a result of a drunk driving collision. Today we learn that the driver of Adenhart’s car had a BAC of .06, which is above the legal limit for a minor.

Another DUI Checkpoint alert from our office. The Chicago Police Department will conduct a Roadside Safety Check in the Shakespeare (014) District on North Avenue at Albany. The Roadside Safety Check will commence at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 5, 2009 end at 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2009.
