By Barbara Vitello | Daily Herald Staff
A Prospect Heights man facing his third drunken driving charge pleaded guilty to aggravated DUI Monday in Rolling Meadows and was sentenced to three years in prison.
Jose Ledezma, of the 700 block of Piper Lane in Prospect Heights, had been deported from the United States following his second DUI conviction in August 2007, prosecutors told Cook County Judge Thomas Fecarotta.
Police arrested Ledezma on May 5 for driving 55 in a 40 mph zone near Hintz and Schoenbeck roads in Wheeling. He failed field sobriety tests and his blood-alcohol content registered 0.123, higher than the legal limit of 0.08, prosecutors said. Ledezma had received probation for his first DUI conviction in February 2007, prosecutors said.
