Elmhurst alderman-elect arrested for DUI
OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill. (STNG) — A newly elected west suburban alderman was arrested Saturday for DUI, according to Oakbrook Terrace police.
Elmhurst aldreman-elect Christopher Healy, 40, of 658 Hawthorne Ave., was stopped by Oakbrook Terrace police on Saturday. Oakbrook Terrace Sgt. David McCartney refused to offer additional information.
Elected park commissioner in 2005, Healy defeated one-term incumbent Moira Moriarty for the 5th Ward council seat April 7.
“I am truly honored and grateful that you have placed your trust in me. I will work hard to not let you down,” Healy wrote on his Web site, chrishealy.net, after he was elected.
Healy could not be reached for comment. Ald. Pat Shea, Mark Mulliner and Michael Regan said they had been unaware of the arrest and were not interested in commenting.
Moriarty, Mayor Tom Marcucci and Mayor-elect Pete DiCianni could not be immediately be reached for comment.
