Personal Injury Attorney Chicago Update:

Another reminder that as the weather gets warmer to be careful. This is a tragic personal injury accident that could have been avoided.

Boy, 12, killed riding bike on Southwest Side

A 12-year-old boy riding his bicycle was killed after he was struck by a pickup truck in Chicago’s Clearing neighborhood. The driver was ticketed.

Kelly Ryan was riding on the sidewalk on the 6300 block of West 60th Street at about 8:25 p.m., when he entered a crosswalk, police said. The truck, traveling south on Narragansett Avenue, attempted to make a right turn onto 60th Street and hit the boy.

The driver, Keith Kostush, 48, of the 6000 block of South Mobile Avenue, was cited for failure to yield the right of way and negligent driving, police said.

Ryan, of the 6100 block of West 64th Place, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was pronounced dead at 11:03 p.m.
