Frequently Asked Questions

I have been charged with a crime. Do I need to hire a lawyer?

Yes. If you have been charged with a crime, whether it is a felony or a misdemeanor, hiring a criminal defense attorney is the most important thing that you can do.

What are the costs of hiring a criminal lawyer?

It depends on the case, however we can be flexible. We offer affordable payment plans that require a deposit on the first court date.

How does bail work?

If someone is given a D bond, they must post 10% of that amount to get out of Jail.  For example, if you have a $10,000 D Bond, you would need to post $1,000 to get out.

Should I use a public defender?

Public defenders are reserved only for the truly indigent and only a judge can appoint a public defender to your case.  Additionally, Public Defenders will not handle any civil matters in your case.

Do I need a lawyer if I am being questioned in a criminal case?

NEVER answer questions in a criminal investigation without your attorney present. You may not be the target of the investigation, but a friendly conversation asking you for information about a case can take a bad turn where you fall into an interrogation trap.

How long can a criminal case take?

It depends on the complexity of the case, but it usually takes a couple months to allow for a proper investigation from our criminal defense lawyer. Our client’s needs and requests come first, we do not stop working on your case until we reach the best result possible.
